At a meeting today of Bayonne Hearts for Haiti, the local committee for Haitian relief, Bayonne Medical Center President and CEO Daniel Kane presented a contribution of $20,000 on behalf of the hospital. The hospital is happy to join with others in the Bayonne community to help the Haitian people."
Mayor Mark A. Smith said, "I would like to thank Bayonne Medical Center for its generous contribution to Bayonne Hearts for Haiti. I hope this contribution will inspire other businesses in the Bayonne community to join in supporting the local effort for the American Red Cross. The hospital's support has provided a great start to our fundraising drive." At the meeting, Mayor Smith also presented his own contribution of $500 for Haitian relief.
Phyllis Garelick, Chairwoman of Bayonne Hearts for Haiti, said, "On behalf of the committee, I would like to commend Bayonne Medical Center for taking the initiative and making the first large contribution to this fundraising campaign.
